fantasizing about being k*ssed and knowing in theory I could go out and k*ss a random person but would ultimately feel unfulfilled because what I really desire is emotional intimacy and stability
One of my favorite tropes is “Villain Decay”. It’s not a redemption or reformation - the character themself doesn’t necessarily change morally or behaviorally, but the as the stakes become higher and more serious antagonists are introduced, the original villain seems harmless and friendly in comparison.
that’s how you end up in an elevator with your adopted emo god of mischief brother trying to convince him to stop being mildly evil for five minutes so you can defeat your mega evil older sister who is destroying your home planet
The first one that pops into my head is the Harry Potter reference scene
1. Because I’m a huge Harry Potter geek myself and this entire scene is absolutely adorable to me because I would react the exact same way if my boyfriend not only read Harry Potter because I talked about it so much but actually enjoyed it 2. I mentioned this in my breakdown, it shows how Jake (and Amy) will take an interest in the other’s interests so as to forge a deeper connection and they genuinely enjoy doing so.
I enjoyed their stakeout episode
I think it’s when I realized their chemistry and knew that I’d actually ship ship them.
Their first real kiss
It’s funny because I thought I had watched the entirety of season 2 until I realized there was one more episode left and it was this episode and I freaked out over all of the kisses and then of course this real one. It was a very satisfying FINALLY moment.
I mean the entire scene was important and wonderful because it’s really so rare to see an onscreen heterosexual relationship in which the man is not only not threatened by the success, intelligence and skill of his girlfriend but to also encourage it but I particularly love that moment because Jake is just so excited for her.
When he finally admits to having feelings for Amy because I didn’t know when it was going to happen and when it does, the scene manages to be very Jake and very vulnerable at the same time. It’s a great reveal.
Every single “Title of Your Sex Tape” moment ever.
Also when they do the Halloween Heist
Because it was hilarious and also super sweet? Like it’s a perfect example of how things haven’t changed and how things have changed at the exact same time.
And of course, the proposal
They’re so expressive in this scene. Like I believe the love and the joy and the relief, I teared up and I hardly ever tear up.
